Ancient Era

1528 - 1992

A period of intense historical and legal disputes regarding the site. The Babri Masjid stood on the site until its demolition in 1992, leading to decades of legal battles and a nationwide movement for the reclamation of the Janmabhoomi.

November 9, 2019

A historic, unanimous verdict by the Supreme Court of India settled the century-old title dispute. The court directed handing over the 2.77 acres of disputed land to a trust (Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra) to build the Ram Mandir.

August 5, 2020
